New Chevrolet Aveo (2012): Costs from £9,995
It’s taken a very long time for the (now) 2012 Chevrolet Aveo to make it from production reveal - at Paris 2010 – to a reality in UK showrooms. But Chevy has finally got it together and the new Aveo will arrive in a Chevrolet showroom near you (if there’s a Chevy showroom near you, that is) in January – a full two years since Chevy rolled out the new Aveo concept at Detroit at the start of 2010. So was it worth the wait?

The big news at Ferrari was the California – Maranello’s first coupe convertible and its first car to feature a dual-clutch semi-auto gearbox. Parked alongside the Ferrari F1 car, it looked more purposeful than we expected – though all the motor show cars were, tellingly, displayed roof down. But does anyone else find that front end treatment un peu Peugeot?

Rover lives on! This is Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation’s Roewe 750E - the Rover 75-based saloon - caught here undisguised weeks ahead of its official unveiling at next month’s Beijing motor show. Under a shroud of secrecy the Roewe underwent an official naming ceremony last Friday in Shanghai.
